Description
1879-P VAM-26 Doubled Date Discovered by Martin Field, December 1980. 26 III2 26 ∙ C3a (Doubled Date) (1801 Obverse III2 26 – Doubled date. 1 doubled slightly at top right of shaft. 8 doubled strongly at right outside of lower loop. 7 doubled on left side of crossbar and strongly on lower right of vertical shaft with dash below shaft. 9 doubled slightly on left outside of upper loop. Revere C3a – Normal die Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Please note that the base of the 7 is similar to the base of the 7 on 1879-P VAM-3, 1879-P VAM-26, 1879-P VAM-29, 1879-P VAM-79, 1879-P VAM-85, 1879-P VAM-93.2, (see Longacre Doubling)
