Description
1879-O VAM-12 Doubled 187, Large O Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. 12(revised) III2 7 · C3b (Doubled 187, Large O) (176) Obverse III2 7 – Doubled 187 in date. 1 slightly tripled below upper crossbar. 8 doubled at lower right outside of lower loop and slightly at top inside of upper loop. 7 doubled on right side and slightly at bottom of crossbar. All left stars slightly tripled to sextupled towards rim. 1-3 right stars slightly doubled towards rim. Lower hair over polished. Reverse C3b – Normal die of C3 type with large IV O centered mint mark. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: The doubling on the date and the over polished intial and 'bear claw.
