Description
The 1867 Two Cent Piece - Doubled Die Obverse is a cent produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Two Cent Pieces 1864-1873 series. The obverse features a shield with a banner inscribed IN GOD WE TRUST — the first U.S. coin to bear this motto and the reverse displays a wreath enclosing 2 CENTS. Continued decline with a mintage of approximately 2.9 million. The denomination was increasingly redundant. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792.
