Description

This 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent is the fourth documented cud on the 1/000 Fraction variety, appearing on the reverse side. The 1/000 fraction is a well-known early Mint engraving error where the denominator was mistakenly cut as 000 instead of 100, creating a mathematically nonsensical fraction that has fascinated collectors for over two centuries. This fourth reverse cud represents a different break location from the second reverse cud on the same variety, indicating the reverse die sustained multiple rim fractures at various points during its production life.
