Description

The 2026 (S) Proof Emerging Liberty Dime is a proof dime struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Semiquincentennial Circulating Coins 2026 series. The obverse features a determined Liberty as the winds of revolution waft through her hair, facing the tyranny of the British monarchy, her Liberty cap bearing stars and stripes as a symbol of the burgeoning nation and a reference to early American coinage, while the reverse displays an eagle in flight carrying arrows in its talons, representing the American Revolution and the colonists' fight for independence. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Designed by Esao Andrews/Craig A. Campbell (obverse) / Eric David Custer (reverse). Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $15 depending on grade and condition. Struck in cupro-nickel clad (cu-ni clad over cu core), weighing 2.268 grams, 17.91 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
