(2024) Presidential Silver Medal - Grover Cleveland
Strike Type
Coin Details
Description
The Grover Cleveland Presidential Silver Medal for his first term honors the twenty-second president on a one-ounce .999 fine silver medal with matte finish. Cleveland's obverse portrait was designed by Charles E. Barber, reproducing the historic bronze presidential medal. The reverse features John Reich's "Peace and Friendship" clasped hands design. Cleveland holds the unique distinction of being the only president elected to two non-consecutive terms, serving as both the twenty-second (1885-1889) and twenty-fourth (1893-1897) president. His first term was marked by his reputation for honesty and fighting political corruption, vetoing hundreds of private pension bills and opposing the free silver movement. This silver medal was released in October 2024 at $90 from the San Francisco Mint.
