The 2022 (W) Negro Leagues Baseball Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a commemorative dollar struck at the West Point Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 50,000 examples. The gold coin in the Negro Leagues program, this $5 piece honors Andrew 'Rube' Foster, who founded the Negro National League in 1920. The obverse features a portrait of Rube Foster, founder of the Negro National League, wearing a cap with his signature beneath, while the reverse displays a hand holding a baseball cap with 'Their Legacy Plays On'. Designed by Laurie Musser and Phebe Hemphill (obverse), Donna Weaver and Eric David Custer (reverse). Struck in 90% gold 6% silver 4, 21.6 mm in diameter. Cataloged as PCGS #904204.
