Description
The 2022 (D) Kennedy Half Dollar is a half dollar from the Denver Mint, belonging to the Kennedy Half Dollars Clad and Silver Proof 1971 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 4.8 million examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features John F. Kennedy facing left, based on the presidential medal by Gilroy Roberts and the reverse displays the Presidential Seal — a heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch, and arrows. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. The Denver Mint, which grew from an 1860s gold rush assay office, has served as a major production facility since 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $3 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 91.67% copper 8.33% nickel, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.61 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #904105.
