Description

The 2019 (P) Lowell National Park 5 oz Silver Quarter was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a quarter in the 5 oz. America the Beautiful Silver Quarters 2010 to Date series. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites — struck in 5 ounces of .999 fine silver at a massive 76.2mm diameter. The reverse depicts a mill girl working at a power loom with the Boott Mill clock tower visible through a window. Lowell preserves the history of America's Industrial Revolution and its first large-scale factory system. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792. Estimated market value is approximately $113. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 155.5 grams, 76.2 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #711154.
