Description

Cataloged by VarietyVista with die identifiers UVC-3374 and DMR-004, the 2015 DDR-001 Lincoln Shield Cent presents medium spread east on both sets of designer's initials and STATES OF AMERICA — an eastward hub displacement that created visible secondary images to the right of the primary design elements on the reverse. The presence of doubling on both sets of designer's initials (VDB for Victor David Brenner and the Shield designer's mark) along with the STATES OF AMERICA inscription documents the displacement across multiple widely separated elements on the reverse, confirming a genuine hub-level event rather than localized die damage. Three die stages track progressive deterioration: Stage A at early die state (EDS, unconfirmed); Stage B at early-to-mid die state (EMDS) showing small die chips on the upper left shield edge and a light die crack on Lincoln's forehead on the obverse; and Stage C at late die state (LDS, unconfirmed).
