The 2015 (D) Jefferson Nickel is a nickel from the Denver Mint, belonging to the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 846.7 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 53% of production. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing forward in a three-quarter view, the first forward-facing portrait on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays Monticello in a refined depiction.
