2013 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-005

Description

A distinctive doubled die reverse on the 2013 Mount Rushmore National Park quarter, the DDR-005 shows light westward spread on the middle of Jefferson's nose as depicted in the monument carving on the coin's reverse — referring to the sculpted likeness of Thomas Jefferson on the Mount Rushmore memorial, not the coin's obverse portrait. Stage A represents early die state, while Stage B develops a light die crack running north from the suspended worker's foot at mid-die state, with the obverse also at MDS.
