2012 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

Sharing the same WDDR-001 reverse die variety as the Position A counterpart, this 2012 Philadelphia Mint Presidential Dollar Benjamin Harrison Position B issue documents identical hub doubling on the Statue of Liberty reverse but with the alternate die orientation. Position B designates the die alignment where the obverse portrait is inverted relative to the edge lettering, distinguishing it from Position A specimens. Discovered by Andrew Miller, the reverse die markers appear above the W in WE and below the E in AMERICA, matching the Position A diagnostics since both positions share the same doubled reverse die. Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd president who served from 1889 to 1893, appears on the manganese brass clad obverse of this Presidential Dollar. The Wexler Team cataloged this variety as part of the broader Presidential Dollar doubled die census.
