Description

The 2010 (P) Satin Finish Kennedy Half Dollar is a special strike half dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Clad and Silver Proof 1971 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 583,897 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 6 mint variants, representing only 9% of total production. The obverse features John F. Kennedy facing left, based on the presidential medal by Gilroy Roberts and the reverse displays the Presidential Seal — a heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch, and arrows. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Auction record: $511 SP69 07-30-2014 eBay. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 11.3 grams, 30.61 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #416790.
