Description
The 2010 (P) Presidential Dollar - Abraham Lincoln, Position B is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 49 million examples, making this ranked 15th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 8% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The sixteenth President (1861–1865), Abraham Lincoln preserved the Union during the Civil War and issued the Emancipation Proclamation that began the end of slavery in America. The most depicted president in U.S. numismatics, Lincoln has appeared on the cent since 1909. Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, and Lincoln were honored. The Lincoln dollar drew strong collector interest due to the president's enduring popularity, but overall circulation demand continued to decline. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $5 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #417258.
