The 2010 (P) Hot Springs National Park 5 oz Silver Quarter - Light Satin is a special strike quarter struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the 5 oz. America the Beautiful Silver Quarters 2010 to Date series. With a mintage of 27,000, this is a scarce issue — ranked 0th of 4 mint variants by mintage, with 20% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites — struck in 5 ounces of .999 fine silver at a massive 76.2mm diameter. The reverse depicts the facade of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building with a thermal fountain in the foreground. Established as a federal reserve in 1832, Hot Springs is the oldest federally protected area in the United States, predating Yellowstone by 40 years.
