The 2010 (D) Yellowstone National Park Quarter is a quarter minted at the Denver Mint, within the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 34.8 million examples, making this ranked 5th of 10 mint variants by mintage, with 10% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts Old Faithful geyser mid-eruption with an American bison standing in the foreground. Established in 1872 as the world's first national park, Yellowstone is home to the largest concentration of geysers on Earth.
