The Northern Mariana Islands design features a latte stone, an mwar canoe, and a lei of plumeria flowers — cultural symbols of the Chamorro and Carolinian peoples of the Marianas archipelago. Doubled die errors on this intricate reverse can manifest across the curved lines of the lei, the angular edges of the latte stone, and the hull of the canoe, where even minor hub misalignment during die preparation leaves detectable traces.
