Description

The 2007-P George Washington Presidential Dollar WDDR-006 (Wexler Variety ID: 2007-P $1 GW WDDR-006) presents localized but diagnostically precise hub doubling on its reverse. The doubling concentrates at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from the Statue of Liberty's head and the statue's right arm. This is a Position A coin — edge lettering reads normally when the obverse portrait is upright. Presidential dollars, introduced in 2007, moved IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the date, and the mint mark to the coin's edge rather than a face. Obverse die markers: a die gouge above the right side of the 7 in 1789, a die gouge to the right of the lower 7 in 1789, a die gouge below the right side of the 8 in 1789, and a die gouge between the bottoms of the 7 and 9 of 1797. Reverse die markers: two die gouges to the right of the center F in OF, and a strong die gouge west-southwest from the second A in AMERICA. Collectors should confirm the ray-arm intersection doubling first, then cross-check the die marker suite for final attribution.
