Description

The 2007 (D) Washington Satin Finish State Quarter is a special strike quarter struck at the Denver Mint, part of the State Quarters 1999-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 895,628 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 30 mint variants, representing only less than 1% of total production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs representing each of the 50 U.S. states, released in the order of statehood ratification. The reverse depicts a King salmon leaping from the water before a majestic view of Mount Rainier. Salmon are central to Washington State's ecology, economy, and Native American heritage.
