Description

Nineteenth in the VarietyVista DDR catalog for 2004 Lincoln Memorial Cents, this variety exhibits a medium spread west producing an extra column number 7 from shoulder to knee — a mid-range spread that falls between the higher-extending hand-to-pedestal varieties and the lower knee-to-pedestal types documented on other 2004 DDR dies. Die markers UVC-2891 and DMR-022 identify the specific die. Die state records show Stage A with both reverse and obverse at Early Die State, Stage B at Mid Die State unconfirmed, and Stage C at Late Die State unconfirmed. The shoulder-to-knee range suggests the hub displacement was moderate in magnitude, producing visible column doubling only in the central zone of column 7 where the column line's width and the displacement's geometry combine to produce a detectable offset. Below the shoulder and above the knee, the displacement was insufficient to separate the doubled image from the primary image at the column's width at those positions.
