Description

Assigned UVC-3277 / DMR-034 by VarietyVista, the 2001 DDR-032 Lincoln Memorial cent shows medium spread to the west, producing an extra column #7 from the elbow to the ankle of the seated Lincoln statue. The elbow-to-ankle extent captures the majority of the column's visible height, beginning at the junction of the arm and torso and extending down through the lower leg to just above the foot. Confirmed at Early Die State (Stage A) for both reverse and obverse, the ghost column should present clean definition without the softening that characterizes later die states. This variety is one of several 2001 Philadelphia cent DDRs exhibiting westward column #7 doubling, each originating from a separate working die that received a distinct misaligned hub impression. The UVC-3277 / DMR-034 designations distinguish DDR-032 from its contemporaries — including DDR-034 (UVC-3279 / DMR-036), which shares the same elbow-to-ankle extent but was produced by a different die. Precise attribution between these closely matched varieties depends on the specific die markers unique to each working die.
