2001 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-019
Error
Description
Numbered deep into the DDR catalog for the 2001 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial Cent, DDR-019 shows medium spread in the East direction as an extra column #6 extending from the knee level down to the pedestal. East-spread doubling shifts the secondary column image to the right of the primary on the Memorial facade, and the knee-to-pedestal extent concentrates the visible doubling on the lower portion of this sixth column. Die markers UVC-3264 and DMR-021 anchor the attribution, and Stage A documents the die in Early-to-Mid Die State — a transitional classification indicating characteristics between fresh and moderately worn conditions. The EMDS designation suggests the die had accumulated some initial wear but retained enough sharpness to render the doubled column clearly. Column #6 East varieties on Lincoln Memorial cents are less frequently cataloged than the more common column #7 West spreads, making DDR-019 a notable addition to the 2001 Philadelphia record. The Memorial reverse, with its parallel columns providing clean vertical reference lines, reveals hub displacement readily because even slight misalignment produces a distinct secondary column.
