2001 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-004

Description

This 2001 Lincoln Memorial Cent from the Philadelphia Mint carries the DDR-004 doubled die reverse, showing a medium spread directed West that produces an extra column number seven and an extra knee between the seated Lincoln statue's legs. Die marriage DMR-006 in Stage B shows Mid-Die State characteristics. Attributed by VarietyVista. The seventh Memorial column, counted from the left, is part of Frank Gasparro's detailed reverse design featuring the Lincoln Memorial with its twelve front columns and the seated Lincoln figure visible in the interior. The doubling creating an extra knee between the statue's legs provides an especially distinctive diagnostic marker, as this anatomical detail on the miniature Lincoln figure offers a clear reference point for collectors examining the variety under magnification.
