Attributed by the Wexler Team, this 2001-D Lincoln Memorial Cent doubled die reverse shows doubling on the lower left of the 7th column to the right of the Lincoln statue — a precise architectural element within Frank Gasparro's detailed Memorial building design. The column doubling manifests as a secondary impression creating a thickened or shadowed appearance on the column's lower section, detectable under magnification against the intricate colonnade that frames the seated Lincoln figure. Die markers on the reverse include a small die gouge (dot) near the bottom of the 7th Memorial bay and a small die gouge above the 11th Memorial column, providing specific location references that aid attributors in confirming the correct die. No significant obverse markers are noted. As WDDR-001, this holds the distinction of being the first cataloged doubled die reverse for the 2001-D Denver Mint cent — the primary variety that subsequent discoveries are numbered against.
