The 1999 Dollar Patterns is a United States dollar from the Modern Patterns (1943 to Date) series — a late issue, 14th of 15 years in the series. In 1999, coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features various experimental designs for proposed coinage changes and the reverse displays various experimental designs. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages.
