1999-D Doubled Die Reverse DDR-007

Description

Seventh in the doubled die reverse catalog for the 1999-D Lincoln Memorial Cent, DDR-007 displays a medium spread west manifesting as an extra Column #7 — the westernmost column of the Memorial facade — visible from shoulder to pedestal height. On Memorial Cent reverses, Column #7 is the west column, and doubled die varieties frequently produce ghost columns appearing as architectural duplicates alongside the primary columns. The shoulder-to-pedestal body extent means the doubled column is visible across nearly its full height, from the capital area down to the base, making this a substantial extra-column variety. Medium classification places the secondary image at a distance creating a clearly discernible but not dramatically separated ghost column. The 1999-D was struck at the Denver Mint in copper-plated zinc composition adopted in 1982. Die markers include UVC-3259 and DMR-008. Three die stages document the progression: Stage A records both reverse and obverse at Early Die State, while Stage B at Mid Die State and Stage C at Late Die State remain unconfirmed. The confirmed EDS documentation means the sharpest examples of the extra column come from early die-life specimens.
