The 1998 (P) American Eagle Ten Dollar Platinum was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a platinum coin in the American Eagle Ten Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. With a mintage of 39,525, this is a scarce issue — the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 67% of production. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty facing forward and the reverse displays an eagle soaring over the sunrise. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages. Coined at the Philadelphia facility, the nation's original mint that has operated continuously since its 1792 founding. Estimated market value is approximately $2.3K.
