Description
The 1997 (P) Botanical Dollar is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 57,272 examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, authorized by Congress to honor significant American events, people, and institutions and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages.
