Description
Submitted by Richard L. Ray, Wexler WDDR-019 on the 1994 Philadelphia Lincoln cent places an extra Memorial column in the 11th bay. No significant obverse die markers were noted in the initial documentation, and the reverse similarly showed no significant markers at first evaluation. However, a subsequent examination revealed a die gouge extending from the rim SE of the designer's initials (FG) on the reverse, providing a reliable attribution point. The 11th bay — the second-to-last bay on the right side of the Memorial — is one of the most frequently affected locations in the 1994-P DDR series, appearing in the doubling descriptions of multiple Wexler-numbered varieties. This concentration suggests a systematic hubbing alignment tendency that preferentially displaced the right side of the Memorial design. Cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID 1994 1¢ WDDR-019.
