1994 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-011
Error
Description
Heavy feeder finger abrasions running through the legend distinguish Wexler WDDR-011 from the other 1994 Philadelphia Lincoln cent doubled die reverses that share the same bay pattern. Extra Memorial columns appear in bays 10 and 11, but the reverse also displays prominent feeder finger abrasions running NW to SE through the A and TE of STATES — evidence that the planchet feeding mechanism left drag marks across the die face. Obverse die markers include a vertical die gouge above the right side of the R in LIBERTY, a die scratch running SSW from the back of the head to the left of the lower ear, and a vertical die gouge above the 4. On the reverse, a die scratch runs NW from the top of the left cornice to the E in UNITED. Cross-referenced as Crawford CDDR-015, Coppercoins 1994P-1DR-017, and Wexler Variety ID 1994 1¢ WDDR-011.
