Some collectors pursue complete spiked head sets for a single year and mint, assembling all cataloged varieties side by side for comparison — and the 1993 Philadelphia cent, with nineteen documented spiked heads, offers one of the largest single-date sets available. SKH-1c-1993-16, cataloged by Cuds on Coins as the sixteenth entry in that census, represents a challenging but achievable target within such a project. Building a complete 1993-P spiked head set requires locating each of the nineteen SKH-numbered varieties, confirming attribution through die markers and spike characteristics, and evaluating condition and spike prominence for each acquisition. The exercise reveals how much variation exists within a single error type on a single date: no two dies produce identical spikes, and the differences in spike position, length, angle, and accompanying die markers make each variety distinct despite sharing the same year, mint, denomination, and error classification.
