Extra columns visible in the ninth and tenth Memorial bays distinguish the 1990 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial cent WDDR-006 as a doubled die reverse with a clearly locatable primary diagnostic. The ninth and tenth bays — counting from the viewer's left — sit in the right-center portion of the Memorial facade, and the appearance of extra column lines within these bays indicates that the secondary hub impression shifted the column positions relative to the first impression. This type of column doubling is among the most sought-after manifestations on Memorial cent reverses because the extra columns are visible under moderate magnification and produce a visually compelling effect: the building appears to contain architectural elements not present in the intended design. Detailed die markers on both surfaces support precise attribution — the obverse and reverse each carry diagnostic scratches, gouges, or pitting unique to this specific die pair. These markers function as a fingerprint, ensuring that specimens can be matched to WDDR-006 rather than to one of the other eleven Wexler-cataloged doubled die reverses for the date. Die Markers: Obverse: A die scratch curves NNW from the top left of the W in WE to the rim. A die scratch runs north from the top of the 2nd T in TRUST. A die gouge can be found NE of the zero in the date. Reverse: A small die gouge (dot) can be found below the left side of the 1st U in UNUM. A die gouge can be found below the end of the right Memorial base. A die scratch extends from the rim SE of the tip of the right Memorial base.
