Authorized to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the United States Congress, this dollar was part of a three-coin program including a half dollar and $5 gold piece. The obverse features the full figure of the Statue of Freedom that stands atop the U.S. Capitol dome, while the reverse displays the Mace of the United States House of Representatives, the symbol of congressional authority. Designed by William Woodard. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9634. The Congress dollar's depiction of the Statue of Freedom and the House Mace makes it a unique tribute to the legislative branch of the U.S. government.
