Description
The 1977 Jefferson Nickel was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a nickel in the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. The U.S. Mint produced 585.4 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 66% of production. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing left and the reverse displays Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate. Standard production from Philadelphia and Denver. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $4 depending on grade and condition.
