Description
Part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series, the 1970 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Lg Date, Doubled Die Obv. Large Date is a cent from the San Francisco Mint. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. The 1970-S Small Date is a key date, especially scarce in high grade. San Francisco's storied mint, born of the California Gold Rush, has evolved into the primary producer of U.S. proof coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $15K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 95% copper, 5% zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #92937.
