Formerly listed as WDDR-009 before renumbering, the 1968 Denver Mint Kennedy Half Dollar WDDR-001 stands as the primary doubled die reverse for this date. Struck in the 40% silver composition used for Kennedy Halves from 1965 through 1970, this variety displays tripled stars on the reverse, where three overlapping hub impressions produce two secondary star images flanking each primary star.
