1967 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

Cataloged as the second Wexler doubled die reverse for the 1967 Lincoln cent, WDDR-002 displays a Class V clockwise spread from a pivot point at approximately 7:00, showing on the letters of ONE CENT, USA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the left side of the Memorial building. Class V pivoted hub doubling occurs when the hub rotates around a point other than its center between successive impressions, creating a spread that fans outward from the pivot and varies in magnitude depending on the distance from the pivot point. With the pivot at approximately 7:00, design elements opposite the pivot (toward 1:00) will show the greatest spread, while areas near the pivot exhibit minimal or no visible doubling.
