Description

Produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the 1965 Lincoln Memorial Cent is part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.5 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 100% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. Mint marks were removed from all U.S. coins under the Coinage Act of 1965. Special Mint Set cents replaced traditional proofs. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792.
