This experimental quarter features the RB-1205 alloy from the 1200-series sub-family of INCO's comprehensive 1964 silver replacement testing program. Building on the base formulation established with RB-1200, the RB-1205 variant introduced controlled variations to explore the alloy's performance envelope. The International Nickel Company's rigorous testing methodology ensured that each composition was evaluated under identical striking conditions, using the same Washington quarter dies and similar press settings.
