Class VI, Distended Hub DoublingA very strong spread toward the center shows on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM and slightly on FIVE CENTS and MO of MONTICELLO. Die markers: Obverse: Stage A: Very late die state with numerous die scratches between L and I of LIBERTY. Stage B: New EDS obverse. Reverse: Stage A: Die gouge (dot) left of upper portion of first U of PLURIBUS; die gouge (dot) below and between second U and S of PLURIBUS.Stage B: Heavily abraded. Lower portion of letters of AMERICA weak or missing; die clash mark through second O of MONTICELLO.
