1957 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

Class VI Extra thickness shows on the letters of EPU, both of the dots, both of the upper wheat ears, and both of the wheat stems. The doubling is strongest on the wheat stems. Die Markers: Obverse: A die gouge can be found to the right of the bottom of the 5 in the date. A short, nearly horizontal die gouge can be found north of the B in LIBERTY. Parallel die scratches run SW from the G in GOD. Numerous die scratches run SE from the front of the head. Reverse: A die gouge touches the top of the left wheat ear. A die scratch runs NNE from the upper right N of UNITED to the bottom of the C in CENT. Two parallel die scratches curve from WSW to ENE in the upper C of CENT. Three parallel die scratches run from NNW to SSE to the right of the lower E in ONE. Numerous die scratches run mostly north to south to the right of the left wheat stalk. Die clash remnants can be seen at the top left of the N in CENT. Obverse:
