Description
The 1957 Franklin Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Franklin Half Dollars 1948-1963 series. With a mintage of 5.1 million, this is a less common issue — the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features Benjamin Franklin facing right and the reverse displays the Liberty Bell. Strong three-mint production. The series was well-established by this point. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $37 to $92 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #6672.
