Description

Denver Mint production surged in 1946 as the facility worked to rebuild circulation coin supplies depleted during World War II. This WDDR-003 doubled die reverse emerged from that postwar output boom, when the Denver facility struck over 315 million Lincoln Wheat Cents to satisfy pent-up demand from banks and businesses.
