Error
Description
Light spread on E PLURIBUS UNUM on the 1945 Denver Jefferson Nickel, struck after the return to standard 75/25 copper-nickel composition from the wartime silver alloy of 1942-1945. Die tracking: UVC-804, DMR-072. Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed). Stage B: reverse is MDS with a die crack developing Northwest through the hair on the obverse. Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). The Stage B die crack through the hair provides a critical attribution marker for assessing die state. Cataloged by VarietyVista. Schlag's reverse, in production since 1938, accumulated a substantial DDR catalog through its first decade.
