Description
The 1937-M Philippine Five Centavos, struck at the Manila Mint, is part of the Philippines Five Centavos 1903-1945 collection. The obverse features a male figure seated beside a hammer and anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Struck during the Great Depression, when mintages dropped sharply and the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1933. Auction record: $660 MS66 08-09-2020 Heritage Auctions.
