Description
The 1929 (D) Standing Liberty Quarter is a quarter minted at the Denver Mint, within the Standing Liberty Quarters 1916-1930 series. With a mintage of 1.4 million, this is a scarce issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 10% of total production. The obverse features Liberty standing in a gateway between two walls, holding an olive branch and a shield and the reverse displays an eagle in flight. Minted during and after World War I, as America emerged as a global power and experienced the prosperity of the Roaring Twenties. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $20 to $292 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 6.3 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
