Recorded on the most common date in the Peace Dollar series, IDB-100c-1922P-01 documents the first cataloged interior die break from the 1922-P issue. Interior die breaks differ from rim cuds in that the fractured die fragment is located within the interior of the die face rather than at the rim edge, producing a raised, irregular area on the struck coin wherever the separated or depressed fragment contacts the planchet.
