The 1912 Philippine Peso is a United States peso from the Philippines Peso 1903-1945 series — a late issue, 10th of 11 years in the series. In 1912, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint with a combined mintage of 680,000. This represents the highest annual mintage in the entire series, above the series median of 463,000. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, holding a hammer and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck in silver, with a reeded edge. A notable auction result reached $90K in MS66 grade at Heritage Auctions. Designed by Melicio Figueroa.
