Description
The 1908 (S) Philippine Twenty Centavos is a twenty centavos coin minted at the San Francisco Mint, within the Philippines Twenty Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. San Francisco's storied mint, born of the California Gold Rush, has evolved into the primary producer of U.S. proof coins. Auction record: $3,600 MS64 04-26-2020 Heritage Auctions.
